Product description
A compact neoclassical side table with a square top, single frieze drawer and curved bombé legs joined by a crescent stretcher. The deep cherry mahogany body is dressed in finely chased brass mouldings, beaded edges and rosette bosses, lending it the weight and quiet drama of a museum piece. Sized to sit beside a lounge chair, bed or console, it brings old-world opulence to intimate corners. Ideal for heritage hotels, boutique suites, fine-dining corners and refined living rooms.
Design origin
The silhouette draws on the Empire and Regency furniture traditions of early nineteenth-century Europe, popularised in Indian princely palaces and colonial drawing rooms during the late 1800s. Bombé legs, gilt-bronze mounts and rosette bosses echo the classical vocabulary of Napoleon III's Paris workshops, reinterpreted by Indian master carvers in rosewood and mahogany. The piece celebrates the Indo-European craft dialogue that shaped royal interiors from Lucknow to Mysore.
