Product description
A wall sconce made from the hand-turned leg of a traditional charpai (woven cot), each one carrying a small iron diya cup for a tea-light. The aged wood keeps its tool marks, worn edges and joinery slot, so no two pieces are alike. Hung in a row they create a warm, rhythmic glow — ideal for restaurants, cafés, verandas, corridors, staircases and festive interiors.
Design origin
The charpai is one of India’s oldest pieces of furniture, its legs turned by village carpenters on a hand lathe. Giving these legs a second life as diya holders brings together two everyday rituals of Indian homes — resting on the charpai and lighting a lamp at dusk — in a sustainable, upcycled form.
