Product description
A hand-crafted pedestal stand with an octagonal top rising on four splayed chamfered legs, pierced by vertical slats and tied by a low triangular shelf. Inspired by early twentieth-century Mission furniture, the form is honest, geometric and architectural. The warm antique-oak finish and soft satin sheen bring out the natural grain, making every piece one of a kind. Ideal for boutique hotels, restaurants, heritage cafés, lobby corners and statement living rooms.
Design origin
Rooted in the American Arts & Crafts movement of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries — and its British Arts & Crafts cousin — this stand celebrates honest joinery, solid timber and quiet geometry. Designers such as Gustav Stickley and the Greene & Greene studio championed the octagonal top, splayed leg and exposed pegged construction as a reaction against heavy Victorian ornament. In Indian craft workshops the same language is reinterpreted in locally sourced hardwoods, turning a Western mission form into a warm, hand-finished accent for contemporary interiors.
