Product description
A handsome cantilever station wall clock, hand-carved and hand-turned in solid hardwood and finished in a warm antique walnut tone. The bold Roman numeral dial and slender spade hands recall the canteen and railway clocks of old India, while the shaped corbel and lathed finial add a quietly ornamental character. Hung in a hallway, study, dining room, café or boutique suite, it works as a working timepiece and a piece of wall art at once. Made to the proportions your wall needs.
Design origin
The design is drawn from the brass-and-walnut station clocks that hung in Indian railway waiting rooms and colonial club interiors in the early twentieth century — objects valued as much for their presence as for the time they kept. We reinterpret the form in solid hardwood, keeping the generous turned finial and shaped corbel that gave those clocks their distinctive character, and pairing them with a clean Roman numeral face for legibility from across a room.
