A striking hand-carved jharokha balcony wall shelf, inspired by the royal façades of Rajasthan. Twin carved doors flank a central balcony with turned balustrade, while a balustraded staircase descends to a second platform below — a theatrical, palatial composition in solid wood. The deep walnut finish, hand-rubbed to bring out the carving, lends the piece its heirloom character. Carved to the size of your wall, it is ideal for hotel lobbies, heritage restaurants, boutique stores, drawing rooms and grand entryways.
Design origin
Rooted in the jharokha tradition of Rajasthan, where ornate overhanging balconies once allowed royal women to observe street processions unseen. The carved doorway, scrolled pediment and turned balustrade echo the architectural language of havelis in Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Recast here as a wall-mounted display shelf, the design brings the romance of an Indian palace façade into the modern interior — a sculptural tribute to vernacular craftsmanship and royal storytelling.
