Product description
A hand-painted three-drawer bedside chest, dressed in the vivid florals and mandalas of India’s folk tradition. The moulded top, scalloped base and bright ceramic knobs give it the presence of a small shrine, while three deep drawers keep bedside essentials neatly out of sight. Made to order in solid mango wood and finished by hand, it brings colour and craft into the room without overwhelming it. Ideal for bedrooms in boutique hotels, heritage homestays and homes that love a hand-finished accent.
Design origin
The painted vocabulary draws from Kutch and Rajasthani folk art, where every surface of a wooden box, chest or door is treated as a canvas for lotus, paisley and mandala motifs believed to invite prosperity and joy into the home. The three-drawer form nods to the traditional *sandook* — a sturdily built storage chest that has stood at the foot of Indian beds for generations. Marrying that heritage form with a richly painted finish keeps the piece rooted in craft while letting it sit comfortably in a contemporary interior.
