Product description
An artful accent side table sculpted as a stylised antelope at rest, its sleek silhouette rising into a smooth circular top ready to hold a lamp, drink or book. The carving reads as both furniture and folk sculpture, giving the piece a quiet presence beside a sofa, armchair or reading chair. Hand-finished in a warm reddish-brown stain, the grain glows softly under the lacquer. Ideal for hotels, heritage homestays, lounges, living rooms and boutique interiors.
Design origin
The antelope and gazelle have long stood for grace, alertness and quiet strength, appearing across Mughal miniature painting, Rajput hunting scrolls and tribal wood carving from western and central India. This piece draws on that vocabulary of stylised animal forms turned into functional objects, a tradition where a household animal becomes the very leg of a chair, table or chowki. The flowing, abstracted silhouette keeps one foot in folk craft and the other in a contemporary sculptural line.
