Product description
A low square coffee table in solid wood, entirely hand-painted in the bright, sun-warmed palette of Kutch folk art. The top carries a central diamond medallion of paisley and vine, framed by concentric borders of flowers, dots and arches. Turned baluster legs in an antique gold finish lift the piece lightly off the floor. Ideal for living rooms, drawing rooms, boutique hotels, cafés and resort lounges. Design origin
Design origin
Inspired by the painted furniture tradition of Kutch and Rajasthan, where villages decorate doors, ox carts, chests and bridal swings with vegetable-dye floral and mandala painting passed down through generations. The central diamond is a classical chokhat motif representing the threshold of the home, surrounded by lotus, mango and paisley forms that symbolise fertility, prosperity and welcome. The painted table brings that ceremonial, hand-made warmth of the desert home into a contemporary interior.
