Product description
A slender pedestal stand, hand-carved from solid mango wood and finished in a pale natural honey tone that lets the grain speak for itself. Four gently splayed legs rise in soft curves to a circular top with a delicate raised rim, each leg dressed with an applied vine of leaves that climbs the column. Equally graceful as a plant stand, a lamp plinth or a quiet corner display. Ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, boutique hotel suites, spa corners and quiet reading nooks.
Design origin
The leaf-and-vine motif traces back to temple carvings of southern India, where sacred climbers were rendered in stone and wood as symbols of life, growth and renewal. The pedestal form itself is the chowk — the traditional Indian plinth used to hold a lamp, a kalash or a deity. The carver leaves the column intact and lets the vine wrap the leg, so the surface of the wood stays the story.
